A very good example of John's live repertoire: recorded it appears at various times (even John is unsure when!) during the 80's, perhaps earlier. Recording quality is extremely good and there are some wonderful echo effects on some songs/tunes. The only minor caveat is that the listing is not entirely accurate: the track entitled "The mist covered mountains of home" is in fact a trilogy of tunes, starting with "The lament for Owen Roe O'Neill", moving onto the "title" track, and finishing with "The orphan." That aside, this is not just a very good introduction to JB's live work (Get "The Definitive Transatlantic Collection" for his studio work) but also one to add to the collection for those who are more familar with his work.
