If you are a Wishbone Ash fan, then you either love this version of the band, or you believe Andy Powell should have changed the name of the band, there isn't much middle ground. Personally, I love it because it IS Wishbone Ash to the core. No band will ever replace the original band, I need to say that up front. That said, if I cannot have Martin Turner (who is brilliant) singing who better to convey these songs than Andy who is a pretty gifted singer in his own right. Bob Skeat handles the high harmony pieces and is a superior bassist and Muddy Manninen sounds like the perfect fit playing with Andy. Their guitar interplay and intricate 2 part harmony soloing is truly superior. On offer here is a great mix of Ash old and new with personal favorites like Tales of the Wise, Blowing' Free, Ballad of the Beacon, The King will come, Warrior, Blind Eye and a truly magnificent version of Valediction. This is Ash at their best in a club full of avid Ash fans, it is truly a band in their element doing what they love to do. If you can land this on CD or DVD (I recommend both if you can find them) it will quicly become a favorite. I have pretty much every Ash release, and live is what they do best;this easily rates with their best work so you will be glad you gave this a listen.
