Coverage of the eventful live performance at New York's Central Park in 1983 from pop/soul singer Diana Ross. Though the concert was scheduled for the height of summer, torrential downpours and gusting winds forced the event to be cancelled halfway through, despite the best attempts of the singer to keep on going and to cheer the rain-soaked crowd. The gig was nonetheless memorable and saw Ross perform songs including 'I'm Coming Out', 'You Can't Hurry Love', 'Upside Down' and 'Ain't No Mountain High Enough'.

Live In Central Park [DVD]After watching out for the release of this long awaited DVD, it is finally here. Ordered an advance copy from US and it arrived yesterday. What a picture and the clarity is wonderful. So much more detail than I have ever seen in the previously un-official copy of this concert. Played it on my blu-ray player and the screen was actually twinkling like a reflection coming from her orange sequined costume. The audio matched the picture quality and top marks all round. Ordered another copy for back-up. My Diana Ross collection is now complete xLive In Central Park [DVD]

The footage of the rained out first day concert is the gem of this package. Everything as it happended, amazing to watch Diana realise what was about to happen with the storm, theres a few Diva moments that are classic as she tells the crowd 'STOP PUSHING' cant think of anyone who could have done what she did that day!!
Only gripe i have is the full second day concert audio is slightly out of sync with the picture which i noticed for at least the first 5 songs. Its ever so slight but annoying none the less! Anyone else notice this? Its fine on the footage of the first rained off show! Overall sound and picture quality are good though, dont be put off by the title credits and slighly poor quality cover pic as the concert footage is great!
Diana puts everything into her performance and considering she virtually lost her voice the day before and how wet she got she comes back singing strong but also forgetting words and the structure of the songs, messing up the start and finish but as many diana fans know thats nothing new,lol and how Diana manages to stop herself falling off the edge of the stage on 'So Close' i do not know! The second day was neally ended at that point! The whole thing is just amazing to watch mess ups and all!!

i saw this concert on tv back in 1983 and recorded it on a vhs video.However over time the video deteriorated and so i was overjoyed when the show became available on dvd.Last weekend i had a grand re run of the concert in all its glory, and it blew me away all over again.The whole thing is so dramatic, with the initial concert being cancelled due to the rain storm and then being restaged the following day. Both the initial concert and the re run the next day are here in full and there is also commentary on the event and clips of American news flashes and other information about the shows, which i found fascinating.I am a life long DR fan but i have to say i had forgotten just how awesome she is / was during this show. This dvd captures an unforgetable event in my opinion and i am so greatful it as been reissued. The sound and picture quality is fanatastic and the noise, size and enthusiasm of the crowd makes my hair stand on end everytime i watch the concert. An Awesome concert/event.

Great
Saw this live back in the 80s. This has been re-mastered well. Brought back many happy memories. Would recommend to all Diana Ross fans!
