While most bands undergo a number of changes over the course of their careers, few groups experienced such radical stylistic changes as Fleetwood Mac. Initially conceived as a hard-edged British blues combo in the late '60s, the band gradually evolved into a polished pop/rock act over the course of a decade. Throughout all of their incarnations, the only consistent members of Fleetwood Mac ... Read more in Amazon's Fleetwood Mac Store

5.0 out of 5 stars Awesome ! 1 April 2009
Format:MP3 Download
Of the three Boston Tea Party CD's available from Fleetwood Mac's concerts in early 1970, this one is the jewel in the crown.
This was light years ahead of it's time - the Rattlesnake Shake track featured is simply in a League of it's own.
Listening to this, you can easily understand why in 1969 they outsold the Beatles & Rolling Stones combined world wide in record sales.
If Peter Green had only remained sane & with this group, it would have been bigger than all the progressive /blues bands that followed in the 70's - the world's loss is here to be heard in all it's glory.

There seems to be no track listing nor the actual line up of the group so I've provided one.
Hope this is of interest

The Lineup
Peter Green, Jeremy Spencer, Danny Kirwan (vocals, guitar); John McVie (bass); Mick Fleetwood (drums). Joe Walsh of the then James Gang who were supporting Fleetwood Mac at the gigs joins in for the Encore Jam Session at the end Track 9.

In Bob Brunning's (Fleetwood Mac's original bass player! not John!!) excellent book 'Behind the Masks' he states on page 175 that this recording was made by 'Dicky Dawson who worked for the band' using a 'professional mobie recording unit' and was made 'without the band's ap[proval'
This is a link to the book which I can really recommend.
"Fleetwood Mac": Behind the Masks

The tracks were recorded at the Boston Tea Party, Boston, Massachusetts on February 5-7, 1970.

The Tracks
1. World in Harmony
2. Oh Well
3. Rattlesnake Shake
4. Stranger Blues
5. Red Hot Mama
6. Teenage Darling
7. Keep a Knockin'
8. Jenny, Jenny
9. Encore Jam

5.0 out of 5 stars the original line-up at their best. 17 Feb 2010
Format:Audio CD
i'm so glad that the original line-up of fleetwood mac are finally receiving the credit that they deserve, what with a lot of their music being made available for the first time. this second gig from the boston tea party in february 1970, shows this line-up at their best. with a musician like peter green leading the way, the band could only achieve great things.
the sound of this c.d is quite exceptional: someone went to great lengths to remaster the original master tapes. apparently, the previous c.d releases of these gigs were absolutely absymal as far as the sound was concerned. thank goodness that has all been put to rights.
regarding the songs themselves, i nominate "rattlesnake shake" as the standout song. 24 minutes of sheer bliss and magic, peter green in particular is highly skilled and imaginative when it comes to improvisation and also storytelling which is what i think this song is. other standout songs for me are "oh well," "stranger blues" and "world in harmony."
with a line-up like this, fleetwood mac proved that they could match the best of them, whether in the studio or in front of a packed out stadium with peter green as their guiding light.
