Brilliant Pop Record!,
This review is from: Live How You Listen (Audio CD)
This album is a wicked mashup of old and new: vintage synths and a dirty, driving bassline. The two "parents" (the Mommy and Daddy name is pretty stupid if you ask me but maybe that's their point?) switch off singing and it's like two insanely good bands for the price of one. This cd has been in constant rotation! The energy is electric in some of the songs, like Together and The Meeting, two that the guy sings. The girl songs are good but don't really rock that hard, my girlfriend likes them better. Both sides of the band are dancy if you like that sort. I got hooked on this band at the Waterrats gig back in June, and was amazed at their live show. They look like they are having a killer time, and Mommy looked hot on bass. I really liked that they were making honest, down to earth music. New York churns out some overrated bands but these guys should be getting all the attention. I can't wait for their next UK tour. The live show is just as good as the album but a little more raw.

A True Party Band!!!,
By Bubba Shoot (London) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Live How You Listen (Audio CD)
Anyone can write songs that voice depression or sadness, but it takes true talent to make music that makes one want to shake their arse and be happy just being alive. Mommy and Daddy are pure joy. I've listened to this disc over and over since I got it. It hasn't left my CD player, and as a true record collector, this just doesn't happen. With only a bass guitar and a drum machine, Mommy and Daddy are making some of the most exciting and most importantly, fun music out there. If you like the Yeah Yeah Yeahs, The B-52s, or P.I.L, you'll love Mommy and Daddy. Dirty, punky, and dancefloor worthy, this is my favorite record of this year.

Review of Mommy & Daddy,
This review is from: Live How You Listen (Audio CD)
I saw these guys support The Wannadies last year. Two people, two guitars and one keyboard but what an amazing sound they produce. I agree with the reviews below, if you like P.I.L. and want a CD that you will not take out of your car CD...mine is still in there too, get this CD.It is not often you come across raw energy like this!!!
