Unreality dream live, 23 Mar 2008
By N. P. Stathoulopoulos "nick9155" - Published on Amazon.com
This review is from: Live at Hammersmith Apollo (Audio CD)
This album is available so cheap they could give it away to tons of rock-electronic-goth-industrial-synth fans and wind up selling plenty more Numan albums. Now a cult figure, he has a ton of material available, including live albums from nearly every tour he's ever done. This one is no less excellent.
A solid setlist of old numbers (including some early Tubeway Army tracks) and the most of the Sacrifice album, the style of which he's embraced and taken further ever since. Actually, the only song from 1983-1993 performed is The Hunter (from Berserker) which is a treat as it was not included in White Noise or any other live release. Sacrifice translates very well to stage, opening up the studio album's gritty production (and questionable mastering) without taking away from the mood.
Also available as an import with the Exile symbol-thingee on an orange cover and indicating Shepard's Bush Empire in London. It's the same album. Those covers are preferable (the picture-covers of most of these live albums are terrible) but it's pricier, so no real point. This is highly available, and cheap. The sound quality is excellent, better than many of the previous live releases, including Ghost and Dream Corrosion. The sound is very much like Sacrifice, and the famous voice is very sharp. Very highly recommended, and less than the price of a subway ride (to say nothing of the Tube).

You May Already Own This..., 3 July 2001

Four stars for the album itself (see DARK LIGHT for details), but zero for whoever decided to re-release it with a different name. If you own DARK LIGHT, you own this. If you don't, buy this one - it's cheaper!

This is DARK LIGHT, 7 Jun 2001

I love this CD - actually it's a two CD set. It's from the Sacrifice Tour. The only thing I don't like is that it's the Dark Light CD. I bought this thinking it was a differnet concert. Nope - same show. Why it's being titled Live at Labatt's Hammersmith Apollo, I don't know. But if you don't have Dark Light, this is a definite must have, as it's an excellet show with a great mix of songs.
