This recently issued Cd would appear to be substantially the same as the live disc in the 2Cd set 'Trampin / Live Aux Vielles Charrues 2004' (Import), which is reviewed elsewhere. Going by the 'track listings' and song sequence on the 2-Cd set, these two 'live' discs are identical except that this single Cd version does not include 'Jubilee'.
On this edition, opening with 'Break it up', Patti and the Group scorch through a set of 10 classsic & more recent songs, closing with a rousing version of 'Gloria'. Sound quality is excellent throughout, and every song is absolutely superb. On first listen, 'Dancing Barefoot', 'Peaceable Kingdom', and the aforementioned 'Gloria' stand out, but highlight of this set is surely the stunning 10 minute plus rendition of 'Gandhi'. It's every bit as good as, if not better than, 'Radio Baghdad' from the 'Trampin' studio album.
I'm not ashamed to say it, but this set left me utterly speechless, and with tears rolling down my cheeks.
