On July 7, 2007, more than a hundred musical acts performed at a series of worldwide concerts collectively called Live Earth, kicking off a multi-year campaign to combat climate change and advocate environmentally sustainable living. This 2 DVD and 1 CD set brings together the most popular artists and best performances at Wembley Stadium in London, Giants Stadium in New Jersey, and Makuhari Messe in Japan from this truly global musical summit. The organizers say Live Earth was heard through radio, television, and the internet. Live Earth attracted a record online live audience of more than eight million people. This is a good DVD - a lot of the original performances have been cut, but still a superb DVD to have

Compilation is mostly boring since they only play you the hit songs of the artists participating. This one takes a different approach, some of the songs are the less known ones of the artists. Great video and audio. Watching Damien Rice & David Gray performing Que Sera, Sera (listen to the lyrics) already worth the price paid.

The good points of this DVD:
- it features Madonna, whose performance at Live Earth was the most powerful of her career, where she stole the show, blew acts like Foo Fighters and Razorlight into supporting roles and was the only act of the day to have 88,000 people jumping up and down, going bananas and roaring as one.
- It contains highlights of most of the major artists sets, mercifully cuts out most of Metallica and Corinne Bailey Rae and captures the energy of the day long gig.
The Bad points:
- it is only a "highlights" disc. WHich means you dont get to see Madonna perform her signature tune, "Ray of Light" or her biggest hit "Hung Up". You miss out on the full Bon Jovi performance, the full Genesis set and so on.
Its by Warner Brothers, which means its lazy, half assed, incomplete and lucky to have been released at all.
However the performances picked are some of the days highlights. Lets hope a full box set of all performances of this legendary gig eventually gets released.

Great Concert - But Lousy Momentum of the Day!
The Concert was great and if it had been released as a proper DVD Box Set showing most of the concert, I'd give it 5 stars!
