Format:Audio CD
If you are a fan of Christine Collister there are gems here. Last Chance Texaco and Ruby will send shivers down your spine. I Keep Forgetting and Human Nature are exuberant. Love Me Like A Man had been a live favourite for some time. Warm Love Gone Cold is impossible to find in its original studio version so a live version is very welcome.
The production is sparse, just acoustic guitars and bass. Collister is often labelled a folk artist but this is only really because of the acoustic arrangements. The songs come from a wide variety of styles, the playing is exquisite and Collister sings fantastically well. If you've ever seen her sing live, chances are you've already rushed out and bought this CD. The only complaint would be that the cover sleeve does not begin to do her justice.

i've been loving every Christine record since many years, when she used to sing together with Clive Gregson in the Richard Thompson recordings. this is a live recording, with Dave Kelly and some friends. it's a very good concert, very similar to her best recordings. recommended to everybody who loves British folk in the style of Fairports.

I went to see Christine Collister in the early '90s when she was singing with Clive Gregson and was astounded, at the time, by the amazing depth and power of her voice. When combined with Clive Gregson's song writing and acoustic guitar talent they were quite a team. I bought this along with Clive Gregson's greatest hits, which is also well worth a look. This is a folk album with an american country, often blues feel to it. Some of the tracks are not altogether different from some of Mark Knopfler's solo stuff, if you like that kind of thing. I've put it in the car CD player and it's an album which I'm happy to play without constantly skipping tracks - always a good sign.
Give it a go. Definitely not a waste of your cash. If you like it, go and buy Gregson and Collister's 'Home and Away', Home and Away which is probably my all time favourite album.
