Biography

There are few artists whose names are synonymous with one instrument and how it's played in service to an entire genre.

Utter the phrase "young blues guitarist" within earshot of anyone with even a cursory knowledge of the modern musical vanguard and the first name they are most likely to respond with will be Kenny Wayne Shepherd. Still barely in his 30s, the Louisiana born ... Read more in Amazon's Kenny Wayne Shepherd Store

5.0 out of 5 stars Simply superb......................... 22 Oct 2010
Format:Audio CD
The cd is quite simply superb.
Both KWS,Noah and guests can do no wrong on what must be the live cd of the year, wether rock or blues.
The content is excellent and the production is superb.
Not only that but the packaging is excellent also.
Roll on the next release.
Eventhough the cd is superb, the only thing that is missing around Kenny is Corey Sterling, who was and i hope still is a magnificent blues/rock vocalist.
Someone somewhere bring the man back, with or without the KWS band,as his talent is sadly missed.
On saying that Noah can do no wrong on the live, greatest hits masterpiece.
Buy it now, enjoy and maybe, just maybe,KSW with Noah and the band and if we are very lucky Corey to boot, might stray to our shores.
Dream on.

5.0 out of 5 stars Yet Another Great Live Album 19 Oct 2010
By J. M. Green VINE™ VOICE
Format:Audio CD|Amazon Verified Purchase
OK - GUILTY - I am A Kenny Wayne Shepherd devotee!
What I don't understand, however, is why this man remains still the "undiscovered" talent that he is?
So, here we are, getting on for 4 years since his last album, "10 Days Out" (in itself a superlative bit of blues), with a live album that knocks spots off many contemporary live albums - and again with several of his heroes turning out in support. And, what we have here is one very well recorded and classy album with Noah Hunt providing sublime vocals (per usual) and KWS throwing in lick after lick on self penned numbers like Somehow, Somewhere, Someway, Kings Highway, True Lies, Deja Voodoo and Blue On Black, and with the support of Hubert Sumlin, Bryan Lee, Buddy Flett and Willie Big Eyes Smith, we are treated to classics in the form of Baby Don't Say That No More, Eye To Eye, How Many More Years and Sick And Tired - how much more can a blues afficianado want?
Even if you are not really into the blues, then this album rocks too, all anchored by the well-oiled rythmn section that is Chris Layton and Tommy Shannon of Double Trouble fame and Scott Nelson and Riley Osbourn of Kenny's regular band - all in all a galaxy of excellent support to produce one glorious noise.
If you don't buy another blues album or another live one - just make sure that you catch up with this cracker and enjoy what is without doubt, one of THE albums of 2010!

5.0 out of 5 stars THIS IS TRUE R & B 20 Nov 2010
Format:Audio CD|Amazon Verified Purchase
I don't know who hijacked the title R&B but this album is what live blues is all about. This reminds me of the early British Blues of the Yardbirds, John Mayall, Rolling Stones, Fleetwood Mac, chicken shack etc. reminisent of the mid 60's. It has a wonderfull blues club feel and the music's rhythm vibrates throughout the album. With such great old blues stars as Hubert Sumlin, Willie big eyes Smith, Brian Lee and Buddy Flett this album just cannot go wrong. Of course Kenny Wayne Shepherd is brilliant and must have been in his element playing with all these great guitarists. If I had one piece of criticism it would be that none of the guitarists are introduced or mentioned on the albums track sleeve so it is difficult to know whom is playing. But that is a minor distraction, this album is full of energy from track one to the last and the guitar solo's are superb. If you like your blues in the true R&B style then you will not be disappointed.
