5.0 out of 5 stars Manchester's finest blast London! 26 Jan 2004
Inspiral Carpets prove themselves to be the best band Manchester produced after The Smiths; not Stone Roses or Happy Mondays or any other Charlatan(s). It's too easy to forget how many great songs the Carpets have...they've got bucketloads. All familiar, all brilliant. Tom Hingley's voice is the big surprise here, as his voice could fill Brixton Academy ten times over, as he belts out 'Saturn 5' and 'Commercial Reign' he damn near takes the roof off.
Buy this dvd to see a fantastic live performance by one of the best bands Britain has ever produced. Cooler than f***!

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Concert 10 Mar 2013
Verified Purchase
Although I have never seen the band live, or listened to more than 1 album I thoroughly enjoyed watching this concert, both when it first arrived, and 1 Friday evening whilst enjoying a lovely single malt. Most of the songs played were included on the album I have in my ast collection, so knew most of them. Don't know any of the band members name so cannot mention them, but the singer and keyboard player look as though they have some lovely banter between them.

5.0 out of 5 stars Brought Back Good Memories 7 Sep 2012
Verified Purchase
Having been a fan of the band from the late 80's onwards, I wasn't certain about this purchase. 'Another nostalgia cash' in I though to myself, why am I bothering? Once the gig began, to a packed Brixton Accademy, It was like being transported back to their golden era of the early nineties. A fantastic gig, full of energy and passion, a must for anyone who was a fan in the early days, you won't be disappointed.

4.0 out of 5 stars moo 17 April 2012

with the 2012 madchester revival well under way i was looking for a dvd of the carpets from back in the day ...as there was nothing from 89 this certainly did the trick...recorded in the early/mid nineties and crammed full of classics including joe find out why and keep the circle around this is a great live recording of the band always be classed as third fiddle to the roses and the mondays this being in my opinion to the vocal talents of tom hingley, technically faultless but very much lacking as a front man nevertheless a quality dvd.keep the faith!
