Brian Kennedy is heard here at his best, captured live on stage at the Waterfront Hall, Belfast, a venue where he is more at home than anywhere else in the world, appearing over two nights on the 7th and 8th November 2003 in front of capacity audiences of 2700. As well as his much admired band - Calum MacColl (guitar, dulcimer, vocals), Liam Bradley (percussion, drums, vocals), James Hallawell (keyboards, vocals) and James Blennerhassett (upright bass, bass guitar, vocals) - a string quartet was added for "I’ll Take You Home Again Kathleen" and "The Isle of Innisfree". The album features all of his best loved songs, along with a fine Van Morrison medley of "Crazy Love" and "Have I Told You Lately". Format:Audio CD
As a longtime fan of Brian's I expected a good CD but this exceeded my expectations. It was a long time coming but well worth the wait. Brian truly comes alive in concert. He is one of the increasingly rare artists who is actually BETTER live than in a studio. It is his natural element. And now I can have that experience in my own home, car....
The quality of production on the CD is superb. Brian covers all categories of music from tradional Irish to modern. He has perfect pitch and a great range & is an accomplished songwriter too. I love 'Different God' - it never fails to give me goosebumps. 'Christopher St' is another wonderful song. His homage to Van Morrison - 'Crazy Love/Have I Told You Lately' is another highlight. In fact it is a double album filled with gems.
Brian does not just sing the words, he experiences the emotions of the songs and takes you on that emotional journey with him. This is an album that will be appreciated by all music fans. I have been playing it constantly over the last few weeks & cannot recommend it highly enough.
Do yourself a favour, take a chance and buy this CD. I promise you won't regret it.

Format:Audio CD
As a long time Brian Kennedy fan I embraced the idea of a live CD with great exictment. Having been lucky enough to experience the thrill of being present at numerous concerts I knew this was the CD for me and Brian Kennedy certainly did not dissapoint.
This CD covers a wonderful disography and is a magical journey of Kennedy's career to date. It includes beautifully delivered renditions of old favourite's such 'captured', and incorporates all of the audience favourites, the sign along songs, the swaying numbers and a chance to bop along with Brian.
There is a truely personal feel to the album, as Brian introduces some of the tracks and talks to the audience, adding some of his wonderful Irish charm to the whole experience. Personally the highlight of the CD was Brian's rendition of 'Crazy Love' blended with 'Have I told you lately' as a well deserved tribute to Van Morrison.
Brian's delivery of the more traditional Irish ballads is amazing, with the most awe inducing version of 'Danny Boy'. Brian proved his wonderful talent by treating the audience/listener to an unaccompanied version of 'You raise me up'which left me speechless.
This is an album for everyone, It meets every expectation and is an all rounder in music.
If you are a die hard fan, a first time listener or are just curious about this artist, don't hesitate this is the album for you.
This CD gave me a great apreciation of Brian Kennedy's music to date and left me with the feeling that in a few more years there will be enough fantastic music to make another 'Live in Belfast'

Format:Audio CD
I've never seen Brian Kennedy live but how I wish that I had been at this Belfast concert. This is a truly sensational performance by a truly gifted singer and performer. One minute you are up dancing and the next shedding a tear. So buy this album and listen to a master of emotional communication with the voice of angle. Those who miss this one miss something really special.
