Idina Menzel is one of my absolute idols. Her voice is absolutely stunning, and yes there is some general banter but she is very witty and charming and her anecdotes put some of the songs into context and for some of them - "No Day But Today" for example - it gives the songs a whole new emotional context and gives them far more of an impact then the songs on their own :D. It is also lovely to hear Idina in her element and how much fun she is having whilst performing, a moment that sticks in my mind is when her husband Taye Diggs appears on stage and the two perform a duet.
All in all I feel my money was very well spent :D x

This is recorded from a live performance and there is alot of Idina talking to the audience between tracks which detracts from the wonderful singing performances. I like to listen to CDs in the car and with the talking it's not suitable for that. Her other albums are better.

The first time I heard / saw Idina was on 'Glee'. Her voice is delightful - and this CD (and the DVD) follow in a similar vein. Her audience interaction reveals a warm and sincere personality. Her voice is wonderful - it has an ever-so-slightly 'rough' edge which gives her a voice its unique and distinct sound. The chosen songs suit her voice and are utterly convincing. Her interpretation of them is superb. I highly recommend her CD. The DVD is wonderful too.
