I pre ordered this and couldn't wait for it to arrive, and I wasn't disappointed. Kasabian are the best live band around at the moment, and have gradually worked their way up from their first self-titled album, to their most recent, Velociraptor. They are an amazing band to watch live, and are definitely at their best doing so.
This DVD contains tracks from all their four albums, along with tracks from Velociraptor, and what a show! These guys are absolutely brilliant. There is also a half hour documentary, which follows the band as they tour the UK and Ireland and has some hilarious backstage footage. But what you do get to see, is how much these guys really like and respect each other. There are no egos just a bunch of young lads who still seem to not be able to believe their luck, or take any of it for granted. A refreshing change.
I would recommend this DVD to anyone who is into music, whether you're a Kasabian fan or not, you will be after watching this. If I could have gave it 6 stars, I would.
I can't believe that this DVD isn't top of the charts, it is absolutely amazing. Stand outs for me are Take Aim, with Sergio taking lead vocals, Fast Fuse, Goodbye Kiss, L.S.F., and Shoot the Runner. The encore including Switchblade Smiles, Vlad the Impaler and Fire is amazing to watch just for the the way the band control the crowd and make them all sit down before the end of Fire, and then tell them all to "Jump."
An amazing climax to a fantastic tour. And as a Rolling Stones fan for many years, more than I care to remember, I must admit, with a slight sadness, that Mick Jagger now has a young contender for 'best frontman' step forward Tom Meighan, this young 'whippersnapper' is about to take Jaggers crown. Jagger should be looking over his shoulder now, and be very scared indeed.
I would love to see Kasabian live myself, but the tickets are always sold out within hours. So, for the time being I will have to make do with watching this DVD, as the 'next best thing.' Never mind maybe one day; I'm sure they will be around for a long time, and I, for one, can't wait to see what they do next.
