An energetic, powerful set from 1994, which sees the band deliver storming renditions of tracks from Pablo Honey and The Bends, as well as a couple of obscure classics. You is an explosive opener, Creep is toweringly anthemic, Vegetable is emotional. The band delivers phenomenal versions of previously unheard tracks from The Bends, including Bones, The Bends, Just, My Iron Lung and Street Spirit, after which the audience seems as blown away as we are on hearing those tracks today. Lost single Pop Is Dead rears its head for a raucous run-through, and one of the highlights of the set is an incendiary rendition of the classic B-Side Maquiladora, which makes the admittedly brilliant record version look decidedly old-school. Overall, the band delivers a record beating performance, with Jonny Greenwood's consistently startling guitar work and Thom Yorke's beautiful vocals leaving the viewer in awe. A rare gem, and a must for all fans of great live music.

At last this great show has been put onto dvd. It captures Radiohead just before the release of their second album The Bends, but most of the songs showcased are from their first album Pablo Honey. I think if you are a Radiohead fan you would agree that the first album was an o.k album, but then again you couldn't really compare it to any of their later stuff as they progressed so quickly into making absolutely incredible music.
So this dvd captures the band just before the explosion.
Thom's singing on every song is incredible. The stand out for me is Street Spirit where his lungs soar into unparalled bliss. Every band member is on form here and clearly enjoying themselves in playing at the legendary Astoria in London. The crowd recognises this and gives the atmosphere a wonderful aurora. If you're a fan this is indispensible. If you're just getting into them I highly recommend this dvd as it's a good start off point. You will not be dissapointed!!

This dvd captures radiohead playing an absolutely amazing gig. Would thoroughly recommend it to any radiohead fan. The quality of the performance is incredible - Thom Yorke's soaring voice, Jonny Greenwood's frantic yet precise lead guitar, Ed O'Brien's haunting atmospheric sound. The tightness and balance of the band is awe-inspiring.

The gig features songs from Pablo Honey and The Bends (plus a few others). These are radiohead's more 'conventional, pre-experimental' songs, which will appeal to any fans of current UK rock music. They feature catchy melodies, great lyrics and amazing, powerful instrumentals that blow most other bands out of the water.

My only complaint is that this is the only live radiohead DVD since 1994. We want more! We wanna see live performances of songs from OK Computer and beyond. I can only imagine how good a professional recording of Paranoid Android live would be.

This performance, surely one of their best of all time, captures the incredible energy which is formed when the five members play as one. Thom Yorke writhes and contorts with such intensity that it sums up all that is Radiohead. Ed thrashes around in his corner, while Jonny, his long brown hair swaying with every movement, leaps and bounds with each chorus. Meanwhile, Colin remains calm in the background, cooly and ably plucking his guitar, providing the steady rhythm for the others to follow. Phil, cleanly shaven as ever, holds the quintet together as they threaten to wildly burst. The playlist includes tracks from their first two albums, 'You, My Iron Lung, Prove Yourself, The Bends, Creep...' The irregular camera angles and the fantastic lighting combine to heighten the experience. This is a video you need in your collection, my only criticism is that it has to end. You`ll be shouting 'More, More!' along with the crowd.

I am a massive biased Radiohead fan but over time I have found myself disullusioned with all the comments about not ripping off their fans but then they rip us off again. How many other top bands release 70 minute concerts or a dvd with 7 music videos and that is all on it. Radiohead have performed in so many concerts and as most fans know they are an excellent live band but still we are forced to waste money buying short ancient dvd's .
This is again a copy of a VHS tape and although the concert is great you feel that its over too soon. It is interesting to see how the crowd reacted to these "new" songs that a year later everyone who heard them would be going crazy about.
It is also the only live DVD released in over 15 years of Radiohead and is also over 10 years old. Wake up guys we are dying to support you guys and get good value DVD's with live versions of as many songs we can get but we have to buy bootleg concerts.
Why cant we get a "real" dvd with more features and more songs, videos etc.

I fondly remember watching this concert on video in my teens and the DVD release has brought the memories flooding back. It's an intimate gig in a small London venue just before Radiohead moved from being a one-hit wonder with 'Creep' to a huge global band with the album 'The Bends.' Filmed in 1994, all the songs performed are from the first two albums – there’s nothing from ‘OK Computer’, ‘Kid A’, ‘Amnesiac’ or ‘Hail to the Thief’. Much-loved classics from their second album are performed very passionately as the songs were fresh and new to the band back then. You can tell that the audience, who are hearing songs like ‘Just’ and ‘Fake Plastic Trees’ for the first time, are blown away. ‘Iron Lung’ is performed so well that the live recording goes straight onto the finished album. From the first album ‘Pablo Honey’, ‘Stop Whispering’ and ‘Creep’ are big standouts during the show. As expected, the crowd go crazy when ‘Creep’ is played and there’s a great moment during the third chorus of the song were a blonde Thom sings quietly ‘I wish I was special’ and some girl in the audience shouts back “You are!” All in all, this DVD is a terrific record of a band performing their most straight-forward rock songs with all their heart. These days Radiohead have distanced themselves from most of these songs, but even if they were play these songs again in 2005, they would simply be going through the motions and they would never be able to recapture the raw energy from this gig.
