I am not a big fan of this type of music, though I do have the bands albums from the 70's which are a bit hit and miss for me. My older brother is very much into this music, and having watched some of the Blu Ray at his house, I was very much tempted to buy it on the basis of the remarkable sound quality, to which he was just playing in standard DTS on his computer.
Having purchased it and playing it through my AV Equipment with its DTS HD Master Audio. I must say that it is by far the best sound quality I have come across so far put onto a Blu Ray Live Concert. The sound is totally stunning and so to is the picture quality top reference material all the way here.
The concert itself I find it very Avant-Garde with loads of AD-Lib making most of the material sound entirely nothing like the material which came off there studio albums in the first place, representing nothing like the title of the track they supposed to be playing. It can be very sporadic in parts, making the music itself sound more like a Jam rather than anything that was ever written down in the first place, if ever it was written down they certainly forgot it.
There is no doubt these guys are good musicians and the performance is very good making it very enjoyable to watch even if like myself your not particularly into this type of music, I would recommend it. It's worth the money for the sound quality alone, and I take my hat off to the sound engineers behind the 5.1 mix, it's stunning in panning and detail and truly captures the whole occasion of the live event.
