I'll try to keep this brief, which might be difficult for such a great blueray release. I read the previous reviews before buying, and after watching this disc a few times now, this is without doubt one of best Yes concerts available to any serious fan.
In the past there have been dvd's comprising of some pretty excellent stuff, particularly House of Yes, snippets of Yesspeak and Symphonic live.
Sadly the older concerts do suffer due to poor sound quality, but are no less impressive when you see the masters of their craft effortlessly strutting their stuff.
I love Yes, and have many collections of their art, but the sound and picture quality on this doozy blows everything else out of the water.
Ok, I know it's blueray, and that is to be expected, but it's also the time the concert was filmed.
Montreux looks a great intimate venue. That same tour, myself and two lifelong friends went to see them at the kings dock in liverpool. I have seen Yes many times, but that special night was the best Yes concert I have ever witnessed. The warmth of the crowd and the pleasure the guys seemed to exude was incredibly uplifting. This smaller more intimate tour not long after Magnification, might probably be the best tour they've played since the glory years. It is perfectly captured on this disc, believe me.
Of course nothing in this life is perfect. There is far more of Jon, Steve and Rick than Chris and Alan, don't know why, maybe a production oversight, but this is merely a minor gripe.
All else is pretty damn great, if you have a decent 5.1 and a nifty telly, this is unbeatable stuff.
"I get up, I get up".
