Five legends - guitarist Eric Clapton, bassist Marcus Miller, drummer Steve Gadd, pianist Joe Sample, and saxophonist David Sanborn - came together in 1997 for a magical tour of Europe. Part jazz-part blues, this is a recording of an evening's performance at the Montreux Jazz Festival. What's amazing is that even though some of these musicians are better known than the others they set aside their egos (if they had any, that is)and come together for a truly wondrous performance. A must-own Bluray for all jazz-blues fans.

I bought this blu-ray just because I love Eric Clapton and for the moment it is the only BD from him in the market, but I had no great expectations as it dates back from 1997.

Well, I can tell you that now it's one of my favorite blu rays. Image is perfect, with pristine quality and definition.

And what to say about the concert... Fabulous even if E.C. is playing jazzy. He and the rest of great musicians in this show are great. My recomendation: Buy it

As has already been said, this disc is technically excellent and its 1997 date is of no relevance at all. You can play the audio very loud and it's impressive or quieter as a relaxing listen.

Contrary to my expectation from reviews elsewhere Clapton doesn't just make a guest appearance for Layla, he is on stage playing throughout.

Another fabulous music blu to play over and over again.
