Format: Audio CD
Compared to the other available recordings of the 1996 - 97 era concerts, this probably ranks as the best, both in terms of sound quality and performance. Morse sounds particularly inspired, Ian Gillan's vocals are probably better than on the 'Live at the Olympia' CD many songs don't sound too far away from the original studio recordings. Both bonus tracks from the 2000 concert are also good versions of the songs. However, I still prefer the versions of the songs on the Perihelion DVD as I think they sound heavier/denser than on this particular CD. Certainly this CD is a fine recording, but it ranks second on the list of my favourite Morse era live recordings. Definately worth purchasing though, this recording does not dissappoint.

Forget made in Japan, this is the best Deep Purple live CD, the tracks played are great, the band tight, Steve Morse just shines on guitar and today stands on the top guitar pedestals, Mr Gillan is in fine form and some of the newer songs just stand out and the favourites are played with vigour and style, if youve seen them live recently and they are playing better than ever in 2006 well this will capture it for you.

Great release of this Montreux gig from Deep Purple
And when purchased for the princely sum of £1.82 well worth every penny.
