If you are a Bette friendly person, you will not be dissapointed by this album. I think it is a special choice, I first became inspired by Bette midler when i was in my early teens, for her humour, her difference, and her energy. This recording from 1977 is a treasured item of mine, as i find bette's 70's and 80's stuff the most special. I wish it would have been recorded on film like 'Divine Madness' as I am sure it would have been the cherry on the top of that divine cake! OK it has a just a few weaker moments, but the rest of it makes it all up, The best Delta Dawn version I've heard, followed by a completely Bette ' Long John Blues' and one of the sweetest introductions to a song,' Fried Eggs' , is magical, Bette mixes humour, with sentimentality so well and with some improvisation with the audience, this c.d.will make you laugh ( Fact ) and move your body and also at times get into it and wish you were there at that time! Ohhh, I wish i were there! but as i was 6 years old then, all i have is my admiration and appreciation, and imagination of this great live show. cheers from london.glenny.x.
