This is Jorn Lande's (ex M3, ex Masterplan) first live release as a solo artist, recorded in Atlanta USA 2006 during the "Progpower" festival. The live band consists of unfamiliar names (with the exception of ex- Firewind guest drummer Stian Kristoffersen) who do quite a good job, one has to admit. You might have noticed the tracks "Are you ready", "Cold sweat" "Straight through the heart" and "Perfect strangers". No you are not mistaken, these are actually cover versions of Thin Lizzy, Dio and Deep Purple. So at first sight there seems to be a rip- off feeling. Still, this release manages to capture most of the ingredients that put together a good live album. You get the heavy drums, with double bass beats, twin guitars balanced in a good manner, Jorn is good as expected and in general, one gets to hear a faithful reproduction of the pure, maybe raw at times, live sound. So if you would like to enjoy a hard rock- metal live record while accepting a considerable amount of covers versions, this album will fit quite nicely in your collection as it definitely captures the energy of the night.

I was at this show and JORN sounded perfect. Best Live sounding band i've ever witnessed.

I'm a big fan of Jorn. From The Snakes, Ark, Millenium, Pagan's Mind, Masterplan, Allen/Lande, Brazen Abbot, and on and on... This live set has the sound, has the energy, has the songs, and has the voice...Jorn Lande. To me, right now, there is no better power singer out there that tops this guy. This release could have been outstanding, but the inclusion the studio tracks, which 2 of them, a new 2007 studio version Out of a Nation (theres a live version on CD 1), and a cover of Lonely is the Word/Letters from Earth (already released earlier this year on Unlocking the Past), really hurts this set. Instead of including the bonus studio tracks, they should have included 3 more live tracks, I am sure they could have mustered up some more live tracks for this release or during the concert this live recording was sourced from. Also, a DVD of the show (or just a live Jorn DVD) would be nice to see someday.
