When I first heard this I have to admit to being slightly disappointed: although I largely agree with Tony Mortlock's review (given his involvement, his enthusiasm is certainly understandable), it had set my expectations just a bit too high. Yes the standard of playing and singing is generally excellent and the track selection is spot on, but the sound quality for the most part is no more than acceptable. However for me the one major disappointment is Back Street Luv, which is let down by appalingly out of tune backing vocals in the chorus; maybe this came over as a bit of fun live in what was probably one of the encores, but on record it tends to spoil what for some will be one of the key tracks. Still well worth getting as the four stars suggest, but you could well want to acquire another recording of Back Street Luv. Not a problem if you're a Curved Air fan as you will already have other versions, but it does give me reservations about completely recommending this as the one and only Curved Air album to have.
