this concert was previously released on "VHS", under the title: "the eric clapton concert".Its watchable but very uneven overall.I think the problem is some of the songs are a bit weak("run","miss you" & a below par performance of "tearing us apart").The highlight has to be "white room" with its unbelievable guitar solo!Although The band sound a bit jangly at times (eg.sunshine of your love),Phill Collins does bring a refreshing approach on the drums, as do Nathan East (bass/vocals) & Greg Phillinganes(keyboards/vocals).Other fine performances include "crossroads","holy mother"&(if youre a fan of Phill Collins)-"in the air tonight."

It's ok. I had it on VHS but haven't watched it for 20 years. I saw it cheap so I bought it on an impulse. Well I probably won't wait 20 years to watch it again but I will defingitely be skipping tracks.
The playing is competent as you would expect but there isn't any of the usual feeling and Eric seems to be going through the motions. The rest of the band are trying really hard though and Phil Collins especially comes across with a lot of personality. Shame I don't think his style suits the music.
I understand that the Live at Montreaux 1986 DVD is much better.

A Feast Of Clapton
Any Clapton concert is a feast of excellent music and musicianship. This concert is as good as any I have watched.
