Product Description

Product Description

In Baby X we learned how super-tough cop Harry Keeble and his colleagues in Hackney's Child Protection Unit rescued dozens of kids, faced lynch mobs and undertook the impossible job of interviewing paedophiles. Now, in Little Victim, Harry takes us through an extraordinary year in the life of the unit, as the team investigates some of the worst cases of child abuse they've ever encountered. These include a middle-class mother who shook her baby to death, the children kept in a cage, the rape of a three-year-old boy and an innocent grandfather falsely accused of paedophila. Little Victim provides a unique insight into the complex issue of child abuse in the UK. Continuing his battle to bring Britain's child abusers to justice, Harry is pushed right to the edge as he confronts horrors past and present.

About the Author

Detective Sergeant Harry Keeble has almost twenty years experience in inner-city pro-active policing. In 1999, Harry joined Haringey drugs squad, planning and leading 100 raids on fortified crack houses. Appalled at the number of abused children he encountered, Harry joined Hackney's Child Protection Team. In five years he brought dozens of child abusers to justice, managing several international police investigations related to child abuse across the world. He currently works for Specialist Operations at New Scotland Yard. Kris Hollington is a freelance journalist and author living and working in London. Kris is the author of five books including, with Harry Keeble, Crack House and Sunday Times bestseller Baby X, published by Simon and Schuster.

A good read 14 April 2011

Format:Paperback
This is a great read written by Harry Keeble and seeing real life situations, yes not always "nice situations", through the eyes of the agencies involved. It makes you realise how overworked these departments are and perhaps you can understand how some things get "overlooked". This is the second book I've read by Harry and the best so far. Each chapter is just the right size and it's nice how he goes back over some cases that have moved on, albeit not always with a happy outcome.

I stayed up for literally 3 days solid reading this book....It was heartbreaking to read, but informative and honest. It certainly opened my eyes to the child protection world. I can't wait for more from the author from his time in Child Protection.
