although this toy says 18months plus both me and a relative have it for our 1 year olds and they love it! its brightly coloured durable and the book of songs is great fun for parents we have found we want to know how to play the tunes!! haha its highly addictive and once the little ones are older they can follow the easy note system to learn songs too absolutely great!!

I've bought this one after writing off wooden alternatives as they don't really play the notes. With this one you could see they tried, but still 2 out of 7 notes are not really there. The cord on the stick is too short, so I had to use my own longer. I guess it's safety requirements, but my baby couldn't use it really without a longer string. She's one year old and she likes to see me play on it, and do a few bangs herself. I think she'll appreciate it better when she's a bit older.

Great toy but cord is too short
