Purchased for Christmas and assembled Christmas eve for my daughter.
As a Property developer, builder and qualified agricultural engineer I believed this toy would be a doddle to construct.
I WAS VERY MUCH MISTAKEN!!!
From the outset the manufacturer had forgotten to drill holes for the door assembly and the roof - Quality control in the factory must be non-existant for an American manufacturer.
The quality of the plastic components was a little disappointing also, as the majority of the body parts were scratched and scuffed; so I purchased another intending the first unit to be used for outside play, only to find that it too was identical in surface damage, and also had a lack of drilled sections; so it is definately a manufacturing Quality Control issue or a faulty batch!
Assembly very near killed me as it took all my endeavours to push, hold, twist and click in co-ordination all the parts just to affix the roof panel and windscreen pillars...Robust they surely are because once assembled the thing is practically impossible to destroy or deconstruct.
I had to drill the Window pillars before I could fit the door as these had been forgotten by the manufacturer once done the door fits reasonably well but is a slightly different colour to the rest of the car obviously made from a seperate batch of plastic.
It is important to read the instructions as the wheels which are self steer (Castor principle) as in a supermarket trolley have to be assembled carefully as they prove impossible to remove without causing damage if you make a mistake (Yes I have learnt)...
I let the older children apply the self adhesive decals to the cars as after assembly I was exhausted!
Construction aside, the car appeals to my daughter who is 19 months old but alas she needs to be pushed around at the moment as her legs are not quite long enough to reach the floor as yet.
Overall the car is proving to be both fun and practical but the manufacturer certainly has some Quality control issues.
