OK, let's be honest with each other, when you see this tiny little cookbook you know that you are not getting a lot. In the introduction, the author states that it is a collection, "of some of my own favorite dishes which, in my view, are typical of the cuisine of Scotland."
This little book contains a number of simple recipes that are easy to prepare, and give you a feeling for the cuisine of Scotland. The thirty recipes each have a colorful picture, an introduction, a list of ingredients, and then the instructions for making it. Some of the recipes are very simple indeed, such as the stovies, butterscotch and shortbread. Personally, I liked the Scots mince and clootie dumpling.
It's not a bad book, just a very small one. If you want a big book with lots of interesting recipes, then look elsewhere. But, if you want a quick and simple little book of simple Scottish recipes, then this is the book for you.
