Product Description

Little Red Golf Book - Harvey Penick Hard Back

With over 60 years of coaching amateur players, as well as professionals of the calibre of Tom Kite, Ben Crenshaw and Byron Nelson, golf teacher and former University of Texas coach Harvey Penick has a wealth of golfing experience on which to draw. His ability to see through all the technical jargon associated with the golf swing, means that all players, whatever their level, can follow his teachings to get the most out of their game. Named after the red notebook Penick has always kept, this book is a collection of parables revealing the important truths behind the game of golf.

It is full of useful advice not only for the keen golfer, but for pros and teachers as well. It is divided into a series of anecdotal lessons and teachings, from learning which club to use and practising the swing, through to overcoming bad habits and preparing for big matches. Holding the club "like a musical instrument"; letting confidence rub off on one by playing with a better golfer; "powdering" the ball to check on clubface address - these are just some of Harvey Penick's homespun tips on how to improve one's game.

Keeping it simple 11 May 2003
Size Name:One Size Only
Harvey Penick obviously had many great gifts; simplicity was certainly one. He conveys his wisdom in a unique and easily understandable manner with a series of anecdotal jottings from his famous little red book which almost transports the reader to the course with Harvey at his/her side. Ther are no lavish step-by-step diagrams to try and copy; what Harvey serves up is a number of pointers for you to consider, discard or take as gospel at your own whim. A fascinating and refreshing read.

MEETING AND COMPETING AGAINST FELLOW GOLFERS,TO BE HUMBLE IN WINNING OR LOSING ALL PART OF THE HARVEY PENICK TEACHING. A GREAT BOOK A GREAT TEACHER A GREAT MAN.

For anyone serious about their golf and wants to improve, this book is a must. I've spent hundreds of pounds on golf equipment and coaching but this is by far the best investment I have made on my game. Harvey's advice is unquestionable and his understanding of the golf swing is unrivaled. All explained in easy to comprehend English as opposed to fancy golf jargon you get in other golf literature. Cannot recommend this book highly enough. Thank you Harvey for being unselfish and sharing your wisdom with all us dedicated golfers.
