Amazon.co.uk Review

In Little Nicky, Adam Sandler plays the sweetest of three sons of Satan (Harvey Keitel), who's got to go to Earth and retrieve his nasty, power-hungry brothers lest they take over Hell and make it a thoroughly evil place. As with Sandler's other films, this weird premise (based oh-so-loosely on King Lear) is just an excuse to trot out a hodgepodge of comic bits and cameo performances. Admittedly, a lot of the jokes don't work (there was no need to repeat the one about shoving a pineapple up Hitler's ass) but the ones that do tend to be more memorable than the ones that don't, making for a pretty funny movie, when all is said and done. Sure, it's hard to overcome Sandler's speech impediment du jour, not to mention that romantic subplot with Patricia Arquette but it can be done by focusing on the brilliant cameos by Regis Philbin, Reese Witherspoon, Ozzy Osborne, and Henry Winkler (especially when he's covered with bees), as well as one of the funniest uses of a scene from De Palma's Scarface in years. Supporting Sandler throughout are two very funny heavy metal disciples and a bulldog named Beefy (voiced by Robert Smigel, the man behind Triumph the Insult Comic Dog). And, in an almost unrecognisable cameo, that's Clint Howard as the cross-dressing fetishist named "Nipples".--Andy Spletzer, Amazon.com

Product Description

Nicky (Adam Sandler) is just a guy who'd rather play heavy metal music in his bedroom sanctuary than climb the corporate ladder in his family's thriving business. Ruthless older brothers Adrian (Rhys Ifans), and Cassius (Tiny Lister) are much more ambitious.

When their aging father (Harvey Keitel) decides to postpone his retirement, the sinister duo defects, leaving home, to set up shop in a new location: New York City. This is about to become a big problem for the "Big Apple." Nicky's dad is the Devil himself. Adrian and Cassius evade the Gatekeeper's (Kevin Nealon) efforts to stop them and make a hasty exit from Hades. As a result, the gates of hell freeze over and with no more evil souls able to enter, their dad starts to fall apart-- literally!

It's up to Little Nicky to save him by finding his rotten brothers and bringing them home before his dad wastes away. The problem is, Nicky has never been to earth. In fact, he has never left his house.

Hilariously Funny 11 Aug 2002
Format:VHS Tape
Little Nicky is the son of Beezlebub (aka the Devil) sent to Planet Earth to retrieve his evil brothers Adrian and Cassius, who have escaped from Hell and are, er, hell-bent on ruling the world.
Actually this film is more of a comedy, with the likes of Hitler getting a pineapple shoved up his butt, a bald goon growing boobs on his head (and ends up having to wear a bra on his head)and who could ever forget that annoying talking dog, not to mention Satan falling apart?
I have given this film five stars, but to be honest, I've given it 100000000 stars. It is just that good. If you want to have your side hurting with laughter, buy this. I promise you will enjoy it.
