5.0 out of 5 stars Wonderful 6 Aug 2007
Format:Hardcover
Charming, hilarious, totally enthralling, with a wealth of brilliant detail in the drawing (I especially like the crazy bugs with their multiple garages). It's about a little street and the creatures who live on it - among them an earnest bull called Philip who likes to make things out of cardboard boxes, a little dog called Ian and his sister, the fabulously-named Baby Jade,a messy little pig-girl called Kelly. There's masses going on on every page - it's one of those books that my daughter (3 and a half) wants me to read again and again and that I want to read again and again too. Brilliantly eccentric and really wonderful.

4.0 out of 5 stars Kids love this book 13 Jan 2009

My children (ages 5 and 8) love this book. The animal characters are just like little kids and love making messes, singing, doing crafts and BUMPING AND BASHING. (The minibugs love crashing their cars; make sure small children know this is not safe; but it is funny and fun)

I take care of two-year old boys who LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this book.
It gets read every day, with special delight in the pages that show the insect friends on Sunnyside Street driving their hilarious vehicles and then bumping and bashing them. Because we do not bump and bash toys or each other at my house, this book is a wonderful way to experience a little vehicular mayhem without unpleasant consequences. There are other neighbors on this friendly street, as well: a messy little pig who revels in her messes despite the best efforts of her parents, an inventor cow whose creations amuse and resonate with little ones, and puppy Baby Jade who is thoroughly entertained by big brother Ian who is good at everything he tries, including entertaining his sister.
5.0 out of 5 stars My kids LOVE this book 22 Jan 2014

We got it from the library and they loved it so much we had to buy a copy for ourselves. As a previous reviewer mentioned, it is a really weird plot structure (even by kid's book standards), but something about it just tickles kids the first time they read it and then it gets funnier each time you read it. "Oh Kelly dear!" is our new phrase every time someone makes a mess (which is often), and several other parts have become catch phrases in our house too.

1.0 out of 5 stars One of the worst children's books I've ever seen 17 Feb 2010
By Adrienne Jensen - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Hardcover
This is probably the weirdest, lamest, hardest-to-read children's book EVER. There is no story line, which is definitely not necessary, but there isn't any kind of idea linking each page to any of the others. It's just strange and incoherent. It's hard to read because I don't know...HOW to read it with my child in a way that is meaningful or engaging. I just plain don't like this book. Back to the library it goes and I will certainly never buy it. (The pictures are cute, though, I'll give it that.)
