4.0 out of 5 stars Essential Reading, 7 Jun 2009
By
C. S. Warren (Winchester, UK) - See all my reviews
(REAL NAME)
For anyone interested in the sad demise of the village of Imber, on Salisbury Plain, this is essential reading. Rex Sawyer has brought together information from a number of sources and presented it in a clear, and well illustrated, narrative. As you might expect, the second half of the book is about the forced evacuation and the residents' attempts to return but the first half sketches the historical context.
Recommended.
