First of all according to my order history I purchaes these from Express Essentials which at the present time does not seem to be listed on the seller list below the item so I cannot comment on the shipping or packaging of the other sellers.

My mother had purchased individual packets of these from a local chemist at £1 each. When she decided to get a few more she asked me to try and find them on the internet. So I found these exactly the same thing, I believe at the time each packet worked out at around 46p each-less than half the price we were paying in our local chemist.

These are absolutely fantastic, they do just what they say. I will probably have to buy another box quite soon because my mother uses these almost everyday and insists on sharing them with everyone!

I've had these for a while now but haven't really had the chance to use them until lately. Little Hotties are a pair of sachets. Each pair is individually wrapped so they cannot be accidently activated as they need to be exposed to the air to work! So shaking the box will not set them all off by accident! So, the sachets are like little bean bags and you take them out of the packet and shake them to activate the heat producing substances inside. I would gently shake/mix the contents in your hand in the air, for about 1 minute. Then put them in your pockets, inside pockets, gloves, slippers, socks or anywhere you like! They will take about 15-20 minutes to gently heat up and they may even get a bit hotter after that if you've shaken/mixed them well enough! Yes they do absolutely retain their heat for 8 hours and more sometimes. I've used them on walking and climbing trips as they keep the chill away from hands and feet brilliantly in my opinion. I use them in my job sometimes too as I work outdoors 50% of the time. I've passed some on to friends and relatives who have all raved about them! The sachets are well made and like material to touch. They feel just right in the hand and there's virtually no weight in them either. Also, I find if you give them a little shake after a few hours in the air it re-energises them and this is the way to make them last over 8 hours! They are brilliant! I will be looking forward to using them this winter if it's anything like the last one! Highly recommended.

Update 17/Oct/2012. . .

I've still got about 20 pairs of these from this box I bought. I used a pair a few days ago and they're still working perfectly! Brilliant product.

To buy these hand warmers individually can work out very expensive. Having bought them in bulk i find that i use them whenever the need takes me and they last longer than 8 hours. I'll definitely buy another box when this one runs out. They are well worth it :-)

I suffer with really cold hands, fingers turn white in the cold. The hand warmers once activated and put in the glove start to have some effect within 20mins, so activate before you actually need to use them. Retain significant amount of heat for up to 8 hours. Very happy with the product.

I bought these to take to St Petersburg. The temperature there averaged -20C for our stay and these were essential. I can't recommend them highly enough. I suggest starting them off prior to your needing them, but then if you pop them into your gloves they'll keep your hands toasty. If I feel that they aren't as hot as they could be I leave them in a closed pocket for a few minutes - usually when I am in a shop, or having something to eat and then, they are back up to optimum heat. Now I don't leave the house without one in my bag in the safe and certain knowledge that, even here in Scotland, it'll never get down to -20C!!!

I was really disappointed with these. I have bought similar products in the past which have been superb and invaluable for skiing and watching the kids playing sport on cold winter days as I suffer with Rayauds. I bought these as they were available in bulk. I don't know if it's a faulty batch but they don't get very warm at all. They take at least 30 mins to get to " tepid" but ineffective at keeping your hands warm in the cold weather and then within an hour no heat at all, no matter how much you shake them.
I am now trying to remember the makes I have bought in the past and worked really well!

Very disappointing product. They do not get hot and only just stay slightly warm. I then tried the body warmers (you get three in the box to try). These also did not get warm.
I am sending them back as they just do not perform. This might be a batch problem as I have used these in the past and they have worked.
