Product Description

From the Back Cover

Little Grey Rabbit lives with Squirrel and Hare in a little house on the edge of a wood. One morning Squirrel wakes with a cold, Hare has a cough and Grey Rabbit has the sneezes. "What they want is a change of air," Mrs Hedgehog mutters. "They ought to have a day by the sea," Wise Owl hoots. So everybody gets ready and sets off in the caravan belonging to Duke, the horse. As soon as they fell the warm sand under their feet and the strong sea air in their fur they all feel so much better. All is not well for long though, when some inquisitive seagulls snatch their treasured belongings and drop them into their nests high up on the cliff. Who will be brave enough to get them back?

Alison Uttley's Little Grey Rabbit stories have been enjoyed by children for over seventy years. Her sharply observant eye, wonderful wit and pure enjoyment of the cosy never fail to delight. It is a testament to both her and Margaret Tempest's skill that these classic stories are as appealing today as ever.

Lulls a small child like the waves on the seashore 29 Dec. 2002
By Dr. Sara Gordon - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Hardcover
My little girl (age 7) is a huge Little Grey Rabbit fan, just as I was at her age. I saved this lovely book to give her as a gift and it saved the evening one night when she was ill. It is the story of our gentle heroine and her friends who recover from the sniffles by spending a day at the beach. What child doesn't love a day in the sun and the sand? And what child wouldn't love to travel there in a caravan pulled by a wise horse named Duke, who knows his way even when the driver doesn't know how to steer? And best of all, after a full day at the beach, what better fun than to tumble into the caravan in a sleepy heap with your friends.. "Everybody fell asleep, and nobody steered".
