Review

Honest and courageous personal story - one we haven't heard in full before.
--Evening Echo, 22nd April 2011

Product Description

'I'm really nervous about this scan,' I confessed to the pleasant-faced sonographer as I lay back on the clinical hospital bed anticipating the sudden freeze of cold gel. I tried my best to ignore the gathering dread in my stomach and tried to steady my nerves by telling myself that I had done everything I was supposed to have done to promote a healthy pregnancy, but deep down I felt there was something very wrong. I took a deep breath and then in that frozen moment; I watched the sonographer's expression slowly darken as she gently traced the scanner over the swell of my belly. A creeping, cold sweat inched its way down my spine. I could hear her trying to control the growing panic that was creeping into her voice as she said; 'I'm seeing something here that I've never seen before,' the colour draining from her face. 'Your babies...they are joined.' These unimaginable words were to change my life forever.A" On 2 December 2009, two very special baby boys were born in a London hospital. Joined from chest to pelvis, Ireland's conjoined twins, Hassan and Hussein Benhaffaf's heart-warming and remarkable fight for life against all odds earned them the title the 'Little Fighters'. Written from the heart by their mother, Angie, this inspirational book takes the reader on a miraculous journey: from the life changing moment she discovered her babies were joined, to the agony of their separation surgery. A raw and honest story of devastation and courage under fire, this is ultimately a towering story of hope. Featuring personal family photos, the book gives true insight into the parents' remarkable strength, and the precious boys who brought a nation together - little boys who reminded us all that courage, hope and unconditional love are the true meaning of family.

book of the year 16 April 2011
Format:Paperback
A wonderfully well written account of one familys amazing story, I couldnt put it down. In brief, one very regular family has conjoined twins and they all go through tough times not knowing what will happen, whether they will survive the operation to separate them. Theres a lot of emotion here. I laughed and I cried, In fact I cant stop thinking about the little boys and feel I know them after this book.! Its an inspiring story of courage and love. Lucky boys, to have great parents:they too are fighters.

A Marvelous Book! 26 April 2011
Format:Paperback
I was so thrilled to get this book from the UK in only eight days! I've been glued to it all afternoon, in the mountains of Idaho. This book shines with love! Angie, the mother of Hussan and Hussein is so honest with her feelings, that I felt absorbed right into her life. She tells her family's story with rich description, and flowing affection. I feel like I love her babies now, as well as her little girls! I'm so glad she has a wonderful, supportive husband. I'll be reading this book year after year. It's not available in the USA yet. Soon it will be, but I couldn't wait. I've been following these little boys' lives in the news since shortly after they were born.

This review is from: Little Fighters: The Million to One Miracles (Paperback)
I purchased this book for my own mother for mothers day but ended up reading it myself first! I have never in my life read such a book that was so honest so moving. The Benhaffaf Family are truly an inspiration to us all. Reading the book was like looking through a window directly at Angie Benhaffaf's heart. There was alot of tears shed reading the book, some of true pain and sadness but also ones of such joy. There are wonderful photographs in the book of the family and of the "Little Fighters" throughout their incredible journey.I have 3 young children of my own but after reading this book I have to say I love my own babies even more, if thats possible. The book moved me so so much and really made me appreciate what I have. The book is a must for everyone as these little boys have made alot of us stop and think of what is really important. I look forward so much to hearing updates on the boys. Angie, Azzedine, Malika, Iman, Hassan & Hussein you will be forever be in my thoughts x
