This book was recommended to me by a friend, and I must say how useful it has proved to be. It is perfect for anyone wanting to find out more about different issues about mental health and wellbeing - you might have a friend with an anxiety problem, you might know someone who is depressed, or perhaps you are simply curious to learn the extent that our own minds affect us all. Bear in mind this is a basic read (ie not for the high-acheiving medical student!) but great in that it is easily accessible to anyone and everyone. I personally found it great to have by my bed to dip into every now and again.

This may be a small book but it is packed with information and thought-provoking facts. Emma Mansfield takes the mystique away from how the mind works and our attitudes to mental health. Why are our attitudes so different to people who have a mental health problem and those who have broken a leg? This book should be in every home and every secondary school and doctor's surgery. It is for everyone, from those people who just want to know a little bit about the mind and could also help those who may not realise they have a problem and there is help out there.
