A beautifully simple story of Little Bear who wakes one morning to find his trousers missing. My three year old Montana can't put it down. Lovely story, lovely illustrations. Little bear is top of the pile every night!

Poor Little Bear!, 23 Nov 2010
Another wonderful tale from the 'OLD BEAR' series, based on her own toy collection by Jane Hissey.
What a dilemma - this story is all about poor 'Little Bear' who has lost his trademark red trousers! Oh dear!
From the back cover:-
'Old Bear and his friends make story time special!
Little Bear has lost his trousers! He sets off in search of them and discovers that everyone knows where they were, but no one seems to know where they are now.....'
Small hardback format with dustjacket opens to 32 high quality shiny pages, with good sized text and wonderfully illustrated throughout.
Example of text:-
'The sun shone through the window and woke Little Bear.
"What a lovely morning," he said to himself. "I'll do something different today."
He jumped down from the bed, took off his pyjamas and looked for his trousers. He looked on the chair where he'd left them and he looked on the floor under the chair - and then he looked through the chest of drawers in case they were in there. But they weren't. They were nowhere.
"But they must be somewhere," said Little Bear.
"Trousers don't disappear. I'll go and ask Old Bear. He'll know where they are."......'
And off Little Bear goes to see Old Bear........he hasn't seen the missing trousers, but has an idea who might.....and so.....
Little Bear sets out on a tour of the various toys to find his trousers, which, as it turns out, have been used for a multitude of purposes...except for what they were intended!
Towards the end, Little Bear gets quite agitated but all is well that ends well...as always and he comes up with a very good idea, too!
The 'Old Bear' series of books are all based on the harmless and captivating 'toys-coming-to-life' theme.
The first book in the series is OLD BEAR, published in 1986 and introduces the main character, a lovable old bear who has been put away for safe keeping and is retrieved from the attic!
Other titles from the OLD BEAR series of books include:-
Little Bear Lost
Jolly Tall
Jolly Snow
Ruff
Hoot
Splash!
Old Bear's All-together Painting

Fabulous bedtime story for younger children and for the slightly older child, to read along with.
