Amazon.co.uk Review

A simple game of hide-and-seek goes a little wrong when Little Bear finds such a good hiding place that no-one can find him. All the toys search high and low for their friend until, finally, he is found in a very clever place. This is another reassuring and delightfully illustrated story from Jane Hissey. Children will delight in both the illustrations and the satisfying resolution to the mystery of what happened to Little Bear. - -Philippa Reece

Product Description

During a game of hide-and-seek, Little Bear manages to hide himself so well that he completely disappears. Old Bear, Bramwell Brown, Duck and Rabbit turn the house upside down in their search for the smallest teddy.

A wonderful story 4 Oct 2001
By A Customer
Format:Paperback
This is a great addition to the series and the hunt for Little Bear is described well accompanied by lovingly drawn illustrations. The story is simple, and the ending is satisfying. I loved this as a child and still take comfort from reading this series and especially this story.

By Mirage HALL OF FAME TOP 50 REVIEWER
Format:Paperback
Review based on the RED FOX edition/1989

Large paperback format, 21.5 x 26.5 cm, with an appealing cover illustration which opens to 32 shiny quality pages packed full of the charming colour illustrations from Ms Hissey, as always.

Example of text:-

'Old Bear had been busy all morning. He'd packed an enormous picnic for all the toys. There were sandwiches, cakes, buns, pies and jellies.
'I think I've put in a bit too much food,' he said to himself as he sat on the picnic-basket lid to try to make it close.
Suddenly in a blur of fur and red trousers, Little Bear dashed past the basket and dived into a heap of books.
'Do you think anyone will find me?' he asked from the middle of the heap.
'I shouldn't think so,' said Old Bear.
Who's looking for you?.....'

An interesting question.....as it turns out!

More 'LITTLE BEAR' for little ones in:-

Little Bear's Shapes
Little Bear's Colours
Little Bear's Alphabet
Little Bear's Bedtime

ooOoo

Footnote/Extra Information:-
The first book in the series is Old Bear, published in 1986 and introduces the main character, a lovable old bear who is retrieved from the attic!

Other titles from the OLD BEAR series of books include:-

Little Bear's Trousers
Jolly Tall
Jolly Snow
Ruff
Hoot
Old Bear's All-together Painting
Splash!

Some of the soft toys created by 'Golden Bear' are now highly collectible, by lovers of the brand!

Very Entertaining 19 July 2009
Format:Paperback
I loved these books as a child and when I was looking through boxes of old bits and pieces I found them again. This is a great story and my favourite character has to be the Duck in this one, just because he seems so miserable. Kind of like Eeyore. Love these books.
