As both author and illustrator are so well known for their work, I was amazed I hadn't heard of either of them! Having a design student for a husband was very fortuitous as I was then exposed to the Rands and this fantastic book. The concept is so simple but the message especially to my class of 4-5 year olds is very creative and covers lots of areas other than sharing a storybook. Having bought this, I bought 'Sparkle and Spin' the Rand's other children's book. I read these with great enthusiasm and can instill in my little ones the value of sharing quality texts. Great stuff!

I love this book, it's original and engaging. It's hard to believe it was written so long ago. The text is genius. My scarey bright four year old and my crazy little 2 year old both love this book. It is a great way to talk numbers without anyone realising. highly recommend this different and surprising book.

Cute story about numbers with simple, colorful illustrations. My only problem with this book is the rhyme--reading it out loud, it's hard to find a rhythm to it, so it just feels awkward a lot of the time.

Absolutely loved this book - Gave it as a Christmas present to my 3 year old grandson. The story is absolutely perfect - an easy read but also has a deeper meaning. The best is the graphic design. This is definitely one of my favorites and I HIGHLY RECOMMEND IT.
