Delighted with this Blu Ray player. Installed in 15 minutes and worked instantly with DVDs and Blu Ray discs. I did not use the supplied Cyberlink software as I already had Cyberlink PowerDVD 10 Ultra installed. If anything, Blu Ray movies look even better than on my 40 inch TV, probably due to the reduced size of my 22 inch PC monitor. The only gripe I have is the item description did not state that the package includes a SATA data lead and I had bought one in readiness! Also included are instructions for fitting, screws and an alternative silver front bezel. Amazon would do well to expand their description to include these items. Recommended.

HW XLNT, SW so-so,

Replaced my PC's DVD player with this combo Blue_Ray player. It also burns DVDs and CD but I've not tried that yet. Hardware is excellent. Unfortunately, the supplied software (Power DVD) lets it down. It wouldn't play Avatar (blu-ray). (I found a free trial on the internet that would). Even for ordinary DVD's it says that Dolby-Digital isnt supported - something that my already-installed Windows Media player can do. Now PowerDVD prompts me to upgrade for extra money whenever it comes across a Dolby-Digital DVD - but will the upgrade play Avatar? Are there other blu-rays it will baulk at? I think I might be better shelling out for the full version of some software that I know does play Avatar and supports the Dolby sound. Not sure including this version of PowerDVD with the drive is any benefit.
