When the drive arrived, the eject function did not work. You could hear the motor going but the tray would not come out. Using "eject" from Windows produced the same result. Needed a paperclip in the little hole to get it open, and then it didn't want to close. I guess the latch was broken.
Amazon's service was impeccable, I got a replacement the very next day. However, it had the very same problem. So, I assume the manufacturer's quality standards are poor.
Also the box the drive was in was much too large, and it could be heard to be rattling around. This was the manufacturer's packaging, not Amazon's.
Recommendation: avoid. There are other similarly inexpensive drives out there.
