Lisa Ekdahl's little girl's voice is far from perfect. She's occasionally off key, has a lisp and rarely belts it out. Yet there is something utterly charming about it and her voice is at its best on this album. Virtually all songs are in a light samba style - if you like Girl from Ipanema then you'll like this. The songs are all quite derivative - I heard traces of How Insenstive, Tea for Two etc - and seem very familiar even on first listening. They all seem to be instantly forgettable too until you've heard the album about 5 times when suddenly they get stuck in your head and can't get out. Lyrically they are quite weak too with every cliched rhyme you can think of yet it just adds to the charm and accessibility of this record. As all the songs are written by her husband at the time you can hear the love in her voice. Favourite tracks - Daybreak, I Will Be Blessed, Sunny Weather, How Many More Times, I Don;t miss you any more and the Rhythm of Our Hearts - but there are no duff ones.
This is perfect for a romantic night in with the missus or girlfriend and will guarantee to put a smile on your face. Try it - you'll love it.
