Format:DVD
I'm a bride to be, and trying to save some money for the "Jimmy Choo" fund, by doing my hair and make-up myself...
I have always been competent at making myself look "reasonable", however i have never been great at going beyond the simple nude eyeshadow, slick of liner, lipgloss look.
Jane Bradley's friendly tuition and advice has made a dramatic difference to my make-up... the techniques she uses are really easy to mimic, and you will come away from the mirror looking like you've just had a professional make-over.
I guess it takes a little practice to get a steady hand (took me a few goes to perfect the 40's eye liner and red lipstick look shown on the cover, but i now have it sussed..)
i recommend this to anyone looking to improve their day to day skills, and for anyone looking to do their own make-up for a special event.

Format:DVD
This is the first make up dvd that I bought so I don't have any thing to campare it with, but that's ok! I was hoping for some tips and help on the eyes make up...and it has some looks that I'll try to do!
The only problem that I have with this is the lack of explanation on tools, colours and textures and what's good for this and that kind of face, hair etc... I would like to see a litle more time given to this matter.
The make up artist is really nice and down to earth, she also keep's it simple and doesn't advice any expensive brands that I'll never gonna be able to buy! I think that to achive the looks she does will be quite hard with my skills and materials but I'll def. give it a try!

I watched this DVD feeling a little sceptical whether it would be any good, however, I was very impressed by the quality and professionalism of the artist.
The DVD gives a step by step guide on how to create a variety of looks for brunettes, blondes and red heads. The artist obviously knows what she is talking about and all make up she created looked amazing.
The DVD would be good for those who know very little about make up and would like to learn how to get started. I would say I'm very knowledgeable about make-up, I found the DVD very interesting and will take a number of styles and tips away to practice.
Overall this DVD is modern, well made and easy to follow. My girlfriends who watched this with me (some make-up fanatics, some make-up virgins) ran out the next day to buy new colours and brushes to recreate the looks.
The only reason why I have given the DVD 4 out of 5 is because the DVD doesn't cover make-up for darker skin tones, which will narrow the target audience.
