4.0 out of 5 stars Lioness Rampant 14 Mar 2005
By humanitysdarkerside VINE™ VOICE
Format:Paperback|Amazon Verified Purchase
The final installment of the series "Song of the Lioness" is as well written as the other three installments.

In "Lioness Rampant" Alanna's role in saving Tortall becomes evident. She goes on a quest for the Dominion Jewel (said to have immense powers for the wielder). With her goes Liam the Shang Dragon and Thayet (previous princess of Sarain) with her body guard Biri. Coram, of course, is along for the ride as well.

While Alanna seeks the Dominion Jewel, all is not well back in the capital of Corus. Thom has brought Comte Roger alive again and Roger is as usual up to no good. George is not having an easy time of it either, as Claw is still fighting dirty for the throne of the Rougue.

I'm not certain I enjoyed this book as much as the other three. Some of the depth of the characters seemed to be lost, or perhaps I was just ready to be finished with the series. All in all this was a good conclusion to an enjoyable series.

5.0 out of 5 stars amazing 16 Jun 2002
Format:Hardcover
This is the fourth, and final book in the Alanna series and I think it is one of the best. It is mainly about what Alanna has to do to get the Dominion Jewel to the King, but also has the other characters too along with some new ones like the Shang Dragon Liam Ironarm who Alanna rather likes. The King and Queen are dead so Jonathan is King. Alanna'a brother Thom has done some very powerful, very stupid magic and brought someone back from the dead which Alanna is not so happy about(no prizes then, for guessing who-who was it that Alanna killed at the end of the second book again?!) The Coronation is looming and this is the perfect time for some of Jon and Alanna's enemies to strike. At the end of the book Alanna also finally decides who she will marry. Altogether a thorough finale of my favoiurite TP series.
