4.0 out of 5 stars that's Introduction to linux programming, 22 Jun 2002
Linux Programming Unleashed.
That's a nice book, it covers a lot of topic but in a more general way.
Although it is impossible to cover such large topic on only one book, it cover all but generally.
That's a really good book for beginners to linux programming, something like a starting point.
If u want to go in deep in this subject try the Advanced Programming in the UNIX(R) Environment
by W. Richard Stevens.
That book covers deeply:
-I/O system calls
-Process system calls
-IPC
Try also the one from Stevens about networking, it should be as good as unix programming.

I suggest linux programming to all programmers interested on Linux but with no experiences on this topic.
