Easy to use Linux book,
By
This review is from: Linux in Easy Steps (Paperback)
I needed to use Linex for thye first time in years so was very rusty. I needed a book that could bring me upto speed in a weekend and this book did the trick. Lots of examples and help. How to dual boot with windows and the fundementals of getting to grips with Linux which is a great free OS. I grew up with Unix and found it very easy to get back into. If you are fed up with Winows or just want to have a look at Linux and try some programming this book will get you started quite quickly. The other thing to note is that Linux runs so much faster than Winows on any given machine and has decent software libraries and supports mots modern hardware so it can give you a good stable system for very little outlay. Everyone should try t.

Easy intro to Linux,
By
This review is from: Linux in Easy Steps (Paperback)
For those that want a an easy and understandable intro to Linux, this is the book. It is tied to Ubuntu rather, but generally applicable to all variants of Linux. Naturally it does not go into compilation of modules or kernel rebuilds, but you have to start somewhere and this is a very good place to do it.
