I used one of these with a Dell Desktop PC running Windows XP and it did a great job of connecting to my router. I had no problems with it and very occasionally if it dropped the signal you would click on diagnostics and it got the problem sorted and reconnected in 30 seconds. If you have a PC without wi fi capability it is certainly worth giving it a try
Other network adapters had always worked fine, being no more than 10 meters away from the router. I have a 12 mbps connection through wire and a brilliant router too. This product was clearly faulty from the start. Neither amazon nor the compnay i bought it from nor Linksys would give me a refund. Not happy at all.

# System Requirements Details: - 400 MHz - RAM 128 MB
the package itself shows Minimum hardware requirements the same (400 MHz, 128 MB RAM)
but OS supported only as Windows XP, Vista and Vista 64-bit. Unlikely to run on 400MHz PC.
Also for linux the USB Vendor=1737 ProdID=0077, is first recognized by rt2800usb.c in kernel 2.6.31
Requesting return and refund.
