Product Description

Manufacturer's Description

The Linksys Wireless-G ADSL Gateway is the all-in-one solution for Internet connectivity. The ADSL2 Modem function gives you a blazing fast connection to the Internet, far faster than a dial-up, and without tying up your phone line. The SRX200 technology uses MIMO (Multiple In, Multiple Out) technology, a key component in the upcoming Wireless-N (802.11n) standard, which uses multiple radios and antennas on a wireless router or client adapter to provide improved performance in range and speed. By combining this smart radio and antenna technology with standards-based Wireless-G (802.11g), the WAG54GX2 has the potential to double the range of wireless coverage compared to using Wireless-G alone. Overlaying the signals of two Wireless-G compatible radios enables the product to utilize signal reflections that confuse other technologies to increase range and reduce dead spots in the wireless coverage area. The higher data rate and reflection-friendly technology can yield up to 6 times more throughput than Wireless-G in some situations. The Linksys Wireless-G ADSL Gateway with SRX200 provides all-in-one Internet Connectivity, via an integrated ADSL 2.0 Modem; connection to PCs via a built-in Router and 4-port Switch; a built-in Wireless-G (802.11g) Access Point, allowing users to connect without running wires, users can connect up to 32 wireless devices, and an increase in wireless range up to twice as far, reducing "dead" spots and extending coverage even in difficult environments.

This review is from: Linksys WAG54GX2-UK, Wireless-G Annex A ADSL2+ Gateway with SRX, Silver (Electronics)
I can call my self a wireless Maniac, first I used the D-Link DSL G604T, it was ok, many connection lose and I always have to shut it down, to work again I'll give 2 of 5, then I Switched to Netgear DG834G and it was smooth very nice I will give it 3.5 of 5, then I wanted to move to the MIMO and got Netgear DG834PN RangeMax MIMO-G with Netgear RangeMax WPN511 Wireless PC Card, but I was very disappointed with it the Range was not as close as it claims, speed drops and lose connection all the time. Now I use Linksys WAG54GX2 Wireless-G Annex A ADSL2+ Gateway with SRX with its PC card, it costs a littlie more than the Netgear but believe me its worth every penny the Range and the speed are superior, no connection lose and extremely easy setup even for beginners.
