The Linksys USB Bluetooth Adapter adds local wireless connectivity to your USB-equipped computer. Bluetooth technology lets you connect various electronic devices together wirelessly, eliminating the need for wires all over your desktop, and easily connecting your notebook to peripherals in an airport lounge without all the cable clutter.With the USB Bluetooth Adapter plugged into a USB port on your notebook or desktop computer, you'll be able to connect with other Bluetooth-enabled devices to synchronize the data in your PDA, transfer files to other computers, send files to printers or fax servers, use a wireless mouse, keyboard, or telephony headset, or use your mobile phone as a link to the Internet, all without cables.Up to seven Bluetooth 1.1 compatible devices can connect to the USB Bluetooth Adapter simultaneously, creating your own "Personal Area Network". The main purpose for me was to have the ability to sync my Pocket PC with my computer wirelessly. I was just simply shocked how far I could reach with this product. The signal is strong and capable of being received on different floors of the building. Great product and the reach I believe is well beyond a 100m. I was expecting more from Linksys. As I opened the boxed and showed a friend he turned the antenna and it is now fixed and will not budge - stuck out at 90 degrees. I've tried to put it back but fear of snapping it off. I initally found this hard to work and I find it doesn't always connect first time. I used to have an IR port on my computer and this connected much better. On the good side I use it to download pictures and ringtones etc from several phones which can be in different rooms and look to use it for my printer, the printer being in a different room. This is working really well under Gentoo kernel 2.6.28-r1 - I've got my Wii remote linked up and operating on this linux box using the USBBT100 dongle.
