Excellent little product and a great price from Amazon too !
I have 3 PCs on a network. Two Win XP & one Win 98 and I can now print from all three of them across the network without a problem to a Lexmark Z53 USB printer.
I did have a few problems installing the device though strangely enough more with XP than 98 ! I think though this is because my XP lap top is set to look at my company's network and has a different domain name. The wizard that comes with the device would only search for TCP/IP printers on the current domain. On my work PC I cant change this as a user. For normal home users though, this shouldn't be a problem.
I got round it by installing the drivers for the printer on the PC a if it were a standard USB printer then changing the port to the network port created by the wizard which comes with the device. You also have to disable bi-directional communication in the lexmark drivers for XP & 98 otherwise it constantly reports the printer off line !
All in all though a good little product !

4.0 out of 5 stars Excellent for Windows - others beware 29 Jan 2006
Using a HP Deskjet 950c with this printer server worked wonderfully on Windows - a combination of the latest HP drivers for NT, 2000 and XP and the supplied server driver worked very easily. The only issue is with the firewall in XP SP2 - at present I have to turn this off to print from my laptop though I may be able to sort this out using a firewall rule.
Trying to get my G4 iBook to work was another thing entirely! The server is claimed to work with Appletalk - it doesn't with this printer (garbage printed).
Looking at other reviews I suspect to have fun getting Linux to work as well. Luckily my printer works fine, but many others (especially multi-function devices) simply don't.
If you only run Windows machines and your printer is supported, this is a good buy (especially with the extra switched ports thrown in). If you run mixed systems, just be prepared to work a bit harder.

As an Ethernet switch the PSUS4 is fine, but its valuie as a print server is very limited. The installation software is very poor and wouldn't install the prinserver driver on my DELL laptop or HP desktop PC. The Linksys support site was not at all helpful.

When I did finally get the drivers installed I found the PSUS4 to be a very basic print server. Whilst you could fire documents at it and they would print, you could not communicate with the printer to find any status information. That makes it unusable with the Epson series as you need a working Print Utility to know which ink cartridge to change!! Without two-way communications with the printer the system becomes unusable - not quite the "works with virtually any printer" that Linksys claim!!

1.0 out of 5 stars Useless, Conveluted, and Out of Date 9 Nov 2011

i bought this to network my three computers and allow me to share my printer, it doesn't recognise any opperating system past XP, and no mac support is given by linksys, (there are third party work arounds), Dont waste your money (FYI the company selling this has there FAQ'd in english, apart from the returns and refund policy with is in german, so unless your bi-lingual good luck trying to get your money back!)
