I brought these power line adaptors to connect my media centre to an xbox 360 running as an extender.
They work great, especially it is going across a mains ring and when doing the network test on the xbox 360 the network speed is well above the minimum required for HD content.

Another plus for these devices that makes them better than the other home plug alternative is that the box has a normal size plug on the end (unlike most of the other home plug solutions which are big and bulky) which means it can be used in tight space and reduces the need for extension leads which can reduce throughput speed.

This worked straight out the box, probably the easiest thing I have ever had to set up. Simply plug in two cables and away you go.

I have had massive problems with wireless due to living in an old house where the walls are thick, even with BT HomeHub 2.0 which is grossly misadvertised as having a greater wireless signal.

Tested in two different rooms, one downstairs one had absolutely no deterioration in speed when plugged in and one upstairs a good distance away dropping only 0.2MBps according to SpeedTest.

Incredibly happy with this product, a definite recommendation to all those tired of a wireless connection and it's temperamental behaviour.

The wireless link between my office and living room was not living up to the speeds needed for iPlayer via Boxee so I decided to give Powerline AV a try ... I went for these as they have the 4 port hub included at the one end. It worked straight out of the box and has been on with no issues or downtime ever since. A top product !!!

Absolutely does what it says. I simply plugged in both devices and they connected immediately. I now have high speed broadband to my PS3, Apple TV and TV without annoying wireless drop-outs. The fact the one end of this pair of devices has 4 ethernet ports was the single factor that swayed me as most others only have one or two at the most.

Tooks a fair bit of time to set up (I found the manufacturer's instructions weren't that helpful) but once working they're absolutely spot on. Went from a few Mb and poor stability over wireless to rock-solid 100Mb LAN performance, even with the archaic wiring in my ancient house.
Nodes themselves are well-made & good looking, in a hi-tech kinda way.
Only complaint is you can't tell whether the security setup worked properly or not.

I purchased the PLK300-UK network adapters recently because of issues with wireless in my home, I kept getting network drop outs.

There is no setup on these adapters. Simply plug the adapter into the power and the ethernet port on your Router and PC, and you have a network!

There is the option of setting up security, which means pressing a button on the front of the unit for 5 seconds.

So far its been great, no issues at all. Works whatever socket I plug into in the house, I haven't noticed a loss of speed. I am now thinking of buying a seconf 4 port hub to extend the network.

The unit comes with a plug in 'foot' for standing on desktops etc. This can be a bit fiddly to fit and could be redesigned. There is also the option of wall mounting the units.

For people with issues over wireless performance, Powerline seems to be the alternative, no building work for wires and great network performace, seems to be completly flexible. I recommend it.
